4 Ways to Install Beautiful Backgrounds in Blogger

This is part 5 of our 10-part series on Designing in Blogger.

Now that we have our header and main page layout installed from the last step, we are now going to focus on our main site background. I’m going to teach you 4 ways to install beautiful backgrounds in Blogger.

Blogger makes backgrounds a breeze!! It’s super easy to change up your background, and create really cool effects with it. And the best part … you can make all these changes right in Blogger’s template designer, so you don’t need to touch a single snippet of code to install your background.

In this tutorial video I’m going to teach you 4 ways to install your background. They are:

1. Using Blogger’s pre-installed background images
2. Using a solid color
3. Combining both option 1 & 2 with Blogger’s transparent images
4. Uploading your own image (from your Photoshop template)

All 4 of these options are great … and super easy to do. My preference … I tend to stick with installing my own image as it keeps things more unique, and gives me more control. (Yup … I like being in control!)

NOTE: When it comes to backgrounds, another one of my preferences is to use seamless images and keep them as small as possible. Blogger will then repeat the image so it fills the screen … no matter what size screen your reader has. It will look perfect every time. And .. when using a smaller image, the load time of your site will be much faster than if you have a large image to load.
