How To Create Your Blog Design Template In Photoshop: Part ONE

Welcome to part 1 of our 6 part series on Blog Design in Photoshop. This is the very first step in your blog design. Let’s learn how to create your blog design template in Photoshop.

PREREQUISITES:

The only recommended prerequisite before going through this tutorial is that you have a basic understanding already of the Photoshop tools. If you have never used Photoshop before, I recommend you watch my Photoshop Tour of the Tools Tutorial. I can sometimes get going pretty quickly, and I don’t want to confuse you. So please be sure to have a basic understanding of the tools before we start.

TOOLS:

To participate in this course you will need access to Photoshop. Here’s a handy link where you can get Photoshop for FREE for 30 days! Grab Photoshop for FREE >>

THE TRAINING:

OK you ready? Let’s get going :)
The first step in starting your blog design in Photoshop is to create your template. There are 4 templates that I use in my design business. They are:
IN the Box:

OUT of the Box:

BUBBLE:

PROFESSIONAL:

When I start any of my designs, I always start with one of these templates. I have them all in .PSD files, so I can edit all of the layers separately. I add images, change the colors and fonts, and turn these templates into something wonderful and unique. But it all starts with the template.
